METAMORPHOSIS OF THE SOUL; Visual Art, Storytelling, Courage and Perseverance

METAMORPHOSIS OF THE SOUL consists of two art sculptures, two art installations, one short film, and one community oriented performance - each placed strategically around the Antioch College campus. As an ode to my unconventional journey as an installation artist specializing primarily in the use of found objects, each thought provoking experience encompasses elements of mass media communication and oral history within its framework. To the spectator of my artistic metamorphosis, I invite you to keep an open mind, so that you can recognize the magic that exists in memory, nature, and forgotten structures. To begin our little adventure, venture out to the Old Student Union and watch Transient Throne immortalize feelings of togetherness and generational purpose. Take a stroll to the back steps of Main Hall and Nature’s Ball will capture your imagination with a display of pinecone, stick, mulch, flower, and pine leaf attire. Walk a couple feet away and Antioch College’s very first Singing Tree will draw you towards it with the sweet rings of mismatched wind chimes and recycled materials. Lastly, visit the dark basement of McGregor Hall for a collective healing session intended for anyone needing an artistic metamorphosis of their own.
