The Early Stages of Novel Development
For my Creative Writing and Human Interaction major, I will be writing chapters from a future novel series within the fantasy and romance genre. The exploration of self-identity, the influence of propaganda, and embracing differences are some of the many focuses within this project. Set in a world with six kingdoms, Verena, a human soldier, is taught to fear and loathe the other five kingdoms that hold mystical beings with abilities and appearances passed down by ancient creatures. Taken outside the human walls by Elias, a magic-user of infamous legend, Verena is forced to situate herself amongst those she was once trained to kill. As Verena learns more of the political dynamics governing their rule, she must uncover what makes humans who they are and how to follow her own path of judgment.
